Truxal Library - General Information

The Andrew G. Truxal Library supplements classroom instruction with additional resources. Students are encouraged to use library services to reach their full academic potential in each course.

The Library has a collection of over 150,000 books, 202,000 electronic books, 6,000 print and electronic periodicals, 9,000 audiovisual items, and a number of science models selected to meet the needs of our students. The Library maintains the audiovisual (AV) collection of CD, DVD, audiobook, and videocassette materials on a wide variety of topics and makes new purchases based on the college community's educational needs.

Online resources
Truxal Library subscribes to more than 60 electronic databases, and provides access to the Internet for educational research purposes.

Copy machines
Photocopiers are available for use at 10 cents per copy. (Oversized, reduced and enlarged copies may be produced at 15 cents per copy.) 

Library instruction
At the request of instructors, librarians provide specialized instruction on using Library resources to individual classes. If your instructor has not scheduled an instructional session for your class, please come to the Library's Reference Desk for help with your research needs.

User's obligations
Readers are expected to maintain reasonable quiet and to refrain from using cell phones, eating, drinking, smoking and using other tobacco products in the Library. 

Individuals who steal or damage books, materials or other Library property may lose their library privileges and be legally prosecuted on misdemeanor charges according to Article ED section 23-408 of the Annotated Code of Maryland. Users may be required to show all books in their possession to the Circulation Desk staff as they leave the Library.
